Oklahoma-Kansas Cattle Drive from Pond Creek, Oklahoma to south Wichita, Kansas

Tuesday, September 12, 2017 - Leaves Pond Creek, OK  and travels to Jefferson, Medford, then Renfrow, OK.

Tuesday, September 12: Depart from Pond Creek, OK at 7 or 8 am and arrive in Jefferson, OK.

Wednesday, September 13: Depart Jefferson, OK and arrive in Medford, OK.

Wednesday, September 13: The town of Medford welcomes everyone out for a family-friendly celebration. The herd is expected to come through Medford along Front Street around 1 pm. People can line up to view the drovers and cattle along Front Street. Downtown they will offer living history demonstrations, children’s games and more. Come witness butter churning, lye soap making, leather stamping, a blacksmith and rope making. Children’s games will include a bean bag toss, ring toss, modified horse shoes, mock gold panning, a stick horse obstacle course, a best-dressed cowboy and cowgirl contest and more. There will also be wagon rides, horseback rides, a cake walk, “Wanted” and “Wild West” photos and a Wild West jail. Entertainment will include the Oklahoma Kid Trick Roping Show, Larry and Rick Simpson with an after dinner comedy talk and a musical performance by Chad Smith.

Thursday, September 14: Depart Medford, OK and arrive South of Renfro, OK.

Friday, September 15: Depart South Renfro, OK and arrive North of Renfro, OK.

Saturday, September 16: Depart North Renfro, OK and arrives in Caldwell, KS. A celebration will be held in downtown Caldwell. The cow camp will be located at the KanOkla pasture.

Sunday, September 17, 2017 - Cowboy Church @ 9:00 a.m at the KanOkla camp.

Monday, September 18, 2017 - Depart Caldwell, KS. Arrive at camp. (Andra Property)

Tuesday, September 19, 2017 - Arrive at Wellington Lake. (McNett Property)

Wednesday, September 20, 2017 - Arrive in Mayfield Area (Ast Pasture)

Thursday, September 21, 2017 - Will arrive in the Millerton Area (Light Pasture)

Friday, September 22, 2017 - Arrive in Clearwater, KS. The cattle and chuck wagons will pass thru downtown Clearwater on Ross Avenue between 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., turning north on 4th Street to 95th Street South, then west to 167th Street West to end up at Clearwater Saddle Club Arena (9138 Soth 160th Street West) at 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to the cow camp location from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 23, 2017 - Arrive in Clearwater, KS and move to Andra Property at MacArthur and Hoover, Wichita. The drive will end at the future site of the Wichita Union Stockyards, 6425 West MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. Check with ticket sponsors as there are a limited number of seats. 

Starts at Pond Creek, OK with public visitation daily. Caldwell hosts September 16th celebration on Main Street, cow camp visitation, and concert featuring Del Shields! The cattle continue trailing north to downtown Clearwater on September 22nd,  then on to their final destination just south of Wichita on September 23rd with a concert featuring Red Steagall!
